A true one-of-one piece of wearable art, this vintage Gucci GG monogram tote has been thoughtfully refurbished and completely reimagined by Libby Story.
Dating approximately to the early-to-mid 2000s, the original Gucci tote features the iconic beige and brown GG monogram canvas, brown leather trim, silver-tone Gucci hardware and a spacious structured silhouette.
The front has been transformed into an eclectic collage of handmade hearts created from leather, vintage silk neckties and denim, layered with embroidered tiger and star patches for a playful, artful mix of luxury and vintage Americana.
The original straps have been replaced with handmade beaded handles constructed from vintage silk ties, individually shaped and accented with brass spacers and coordinating hardware.
Finishing the piece is a removable, handmade statement bag charm featuring rich velvet and metallic ribbon, glass pearls, ornate brass details and a handmade resin rose cameo pendant.
Every element was selected and assembled by hand, making this an entirely unique piece that blends vintage Gucci heritage with Libby Story’s signature mixed-media aesthetic.
